Scottish Rite Caps and Crowns from Fratline

Scottish Rite Caps and Crowns from Fratline

Scottish Rite Lodge of Perfection Cap

The caps of the Scottish Rite are prayer caps. We wear them to show our respect and devotion to God, and to identify ourselves as Masons of the Scottish Rite. As the White Lambskin is the Badge of a Mason, so is the regulation cap the Badge of a Scottish Rite Mason.

The Supreme Council has set forth a rule of the correct wearing of the cap. When wearing a cap it will be considered to be a part of the apparel of the wearer and will not be removed. At the presentation of the flag, the cap will remain in place, and the members will stand at attention with the right hand over the heart. During prayer the cap will remain in place and the hands and arms will be crossed as in the 18th Degree–the “Sign of the Good Shepherd”.

The wearing of caps is considered proper a Reunions, Scottish Rite Meetings, Maundy Thursday services, etc. It is improper for the cap to be worn in any other public place.

Achieving the 33rd Degree is an honor that can be bestowed upon a Scottish Rite Mason. It is not campaigned for. It is granted solely by a Supreme Council. A 33rd Degree Mason is a Master Mason who has exhibited knowledge, passion and sacrifice to his Craft. A Supreme Council awards the 33rd Degree as a way of honoring outstanding and selfless work performed in the Rite or in public life. At its regular session a Supreme Council elects members of the Rite to receive the degree. Members unanimously so elected become Honorary Members of the Supreme Council. Fratline offers the largest selection of unique 33rd Degree jewelry and regalia available today.

Knight Commander Court of Honour Cap

The Scottish Rite (Southern Jurisdiction, USA) confers a number of honors upon members who have contributed extraordinary service to the Rite, to Masonry in general and to the world at large. The first of these is the Rank and Decoration of a Knight Commander of the Court of Honour (K.C.C.H.), which may be conferred after a minimum of 46 months of membership and is strictly limited in numbers. A K.C.C.H. may, after 46 months at that rank (but usually longer), receive the 33rd Degree, Inspector General Honorary. This award is even more limited in numbers than the K.C.C.H.

Scottish Rite 30th Degree Sash

The Knight Kadosh is a Freemasonic degree or ceremony of initiation performed by certain branches of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. It is the Thirtieth Degree of the Southern Jurisdiction of the Scottish Rite for the United States of America, and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of Canada. The Northern Masonic Jurisdiction of the Scottish Rite, does not confer a degree entitled “Knight Kadosh.” Instead its thirtieth degree is entitled “Grand Inspector.” The lesson of this degree is to be true to ourselves, to stand for what is right and just in our lives today. To believe in God, country and ourselves.
